94 days in the NICU.
He's starting to resemble...one of my all time favorite movie characters.
Hayden has been on the C-Pap the last 2 days at 30% oxygen.
Poor guy can't ever seem to keep his helmet on straight with those cheeks...
Unfortunately, this means that our feeding initiatives have ceased and that he is also back on the feeding tube.
Funny, but I'm starting to get the impression that somebody thinks he has been "rewarded" with extra wires for playing...

India does not do definite dates.
Hayden will have a bronchoscopy done on this yet-to-be-revealed date as well, to investigate any evidence of tracheomalacia. [Yep, I just linked to Wikipedia.]
Sincerely hoping we can see this face soon...
so that he can be reunited with this one...

Bernadette,
ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze and inspire us all with your strength, patience, and fortitude. Sending hugs and prayers to all three of you - that you come home happy, healthy, and SOON!
And the picture of Scarlett is a hoot! She truly does look like a native!

ReplyDeletebest wishes
lisa xx
You are such an awesome woman! You are amazing for keeping such a great attitude in spite of everything you've gone through and you still are! You are an incredible person and wonderful mom! I really cannot wait for you to be able to go home with both of them and enjoy life to the fullest. xoxo
ReplyDeletePoor little guy... My heart aches as I see his cute little person, still needing support. Luckily there is support and help for him and I so pray for the very best result of MRI and Bronchoscopy. Lots of good, healing vibes to you!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Sense of humour intact - excellent! I am thinking Hayden may grow up to be an Electrician or inventer of amazing things! Like maybe - bigger NICU Beds with Home Theatre? XX
ReplyDeleteI'm the worst at genuine comments on serious subjects. I said a little prayer for your beautiful boy Hayden. God can chuckle at me all he wants, I haven't prayed in ages. Not real sure if it will help, but damn, you guys need to cut this crap and get home safe and sound! I think Hayden is the only kid on the planet with fatter cheeks than my pugder :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to meeting B, D, S and H irl some day very soon-
K
Oh, we much prefer the inappropriate comments! And Carlos wants to know what's up with not including him?!? (He's still fuming about Kirby getting to go for baby pick-up with you all.) Hugs to your "little" guy!
DeleteHayden is so darn cute with his space helmet off.
ReplyDeleteI hope the bronchial investigations go well.
Thinking of you all and warmest (but cooler for Delhi summer) wishes !
You said this was al about Hayden and yet I see a photo of Scarlett at the end...LOL. And I loved it!!! I said a little prayer, too, for Hayden on Sunday. You guys all deserve one big group hug from around the world. The strength you have is amazing. And very inspiring. Remember that! HUG.
ReplyDeleteScarlett looks so cute in her pic! Hayden is getting so big and he is so handsome, wishing you all the very best for the MRI date. Hugs and love to you Bernadette xx
ReplyDeleteHayden is looking stronger in the photos so I hope the tests will just expedite his way into your arms and the journey home more quickly. Love your comment about India's own Dr McDreamy!!!
ReplyDeleteARGH!!!!! Hayden, poor dude, hang in there, mommy will find the answers for you! Bernadette, I looked at these pictures and gave a loud "Damn IT" causing the dog to jump from her place on the sofa knocking over a vase of half dead flowers onto the carpet. Stinky. We're all feeling your struggle and hope that answers are forthcoming in a faster time than the normal Indian "go with the flow" time. The O2 has been flowing for long enough! Wish I knew someone high up in the military who could arrange a medivac home to Hopkins for you! I sent you an email through the blog addy, did you happen to see it?
ReplyDeleteWe keep hoping that Hayden can be discharge from NICU each time we check your blog. We pray the bronchoscopy is only precautionary exam and nothing serious develops. Strong little man, I hope he won't feel too uncomfortable with instruments probing him. Because he's stayed there for 94 days, your son has likely been conditioned to be strong and optimistic, like his mom.
ReplyDeleteWe missed you and send you our love.
Hayden: time to pass the MRI and go home ... before they really get down to 'other solutions', none of which sound like as much fun as chocolate ice cream.
ReplyDeleteBernadette: So much sympathy for your situation. Two adorable babies, and now discussions about really scary things. You are hanging in and thankfully letting the world try to support you. Tough times. Looking forward to hearing solutions and reports you and yours are heading home.
The community of supporters from around the world: Thank goodness for the internet and all the bloggers past and present who have forged paths and friendships and now hold B,D, S and H with caring wishes.
Joy to all, and wishes for happy news for all soon!
I'm not sure I've commented before, but have been following for months (my own miracle surro-baby turns 5 tomorrow!) I have been rooting for all of you. Your babies are gorgeous and I really hope and pray you'll be home with them soon. Hayden is a little fighter and I can tell you are too. I really enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteBernadette you are continually in my prayers and Hayden is getting so big! I love Scarlett's outfit!
